Description

As a Landscape Crew Leader at Adkins Landscape Contracting, you will supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the landscaping crew, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to project specifications. You will play a key role in training team members, managing resources, and maintaining safety standards on job sites. Primarily, I work outdoors in various weather conditions, with some office time for planning and reporting. Depending on project needs, it may require working early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

Job Responsibilities

  • Team Supervision: Lead and motivate a team of landscape technicians to successfully execute landscaping projects, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Project Management: Oversee daily operations on job sites, ensuring work is completed on time and meets quality standards.
  • Training and Development: Train new crew members on landscaping techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Inspect work performed by crew members to ensure compliance with design plans and company standards.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure proper maintenance and safe landscaping equipment and tools operation.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the crew and management, providing updates on project progress and any issues.
  • Client Interaction: Occasionally interact with clients to address questions or concerns related to ongoing projects and maintain a positive client relationship.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety guidelines and protocols on job sites, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of materials and supplies needed for landscaping projects.


 

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in landscaping or horticulture are a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in landscaping, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in landscape maintenance techniques, landscape design knowledge, horticultural expertise, irrigation systems, equipment operation, basic carpentry and construction skills, safety protocols, Project management, and plant identification.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
